Bradford District High School, Fieldcrest in lockdown (update)

The schools went into lockdown around 10:30 a.m.

Update: There was a police presence this morning in the area of Professor Day Drive in Bradford West Gwillimbury. Police responded to a false report of shots fired. An investigation has determined no shots were fired. There were no injuries and the lockdowns have been lifted.

There's no threat to public safety and the investigation is ongoing. Updates to follow from the South Simcoe Police.

South Simcoe Police Service officers on the scene have confirmed everything is safe inside Bradford District High School and Fieldcrest Elementary School.

Bradford District High School and Fieldcrest Elementary School, both located on Professor Day Drive in Bradford West Gwillimbury, were placed in lockdown around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

“Bradford District HS and Fieldcrest ES have been placed in lockdown. We will provide updates as they become available. During a lockdown, students and staff will move to secure areas, away from doors and windows. Interior doors are locked, lights are shut off and blinds are drawn,” tweeted the Simcoe County District School Board.
