'Bear spotting' in Bradford keeping kids entertained (21 photos)

Teddy bears and stuffed animals can be spotted in the windows of many Bradford homes as part of a viral social media initiative to keep kids entertained

Bradford parents and children are partaking in the popular 'Bear Hunts' which have been going viral on social media this past week.

The idea is to leave a teddy bear (or any stuffed animal) in the window so kids can walk around and spot them as part of a scavenger hunt.

One mother, Monica Elena Alupii says it has been fun walking around the neighbourhood spotting all the bears with her four-year-old daughter.

"Looking for bears in the windows sparked a really excited interest for her," she said.

"Getting some walking, fresh air and a little 'bear hunting' is a good idea to spend some time out."

Lisa Marie Graham says she can't wait to take her daughter out for the hunt.

"The outing is not only nice for the little ones but a good breather for us as adults trying to cope with the day to day uncertainty and scariness of this crisis," she said.

As the Ontario government announced on Monday that students most likely won't be back to school until after April 6, local parents have been sharing ideas online on how to beat boredom.

Last week, children in the community took part in "Chalk Your Walk" where they wrote uplifting messages in sidewalk chalk around town.
