Wendell Ferguson is a multiple-award-winning guitarist and Juno-nominated performer. He has won the Canadian Country Music Association’s Guitar Player of the Year Award so many times that he is no longer eligible to receive the honour.

He’s played and recorded with some pretty big names in the business, straddling several genres of music. Shania Twain, The Chicks, Chely Wright, Gordon Lightfoot, Sylvia Tyson, Keith Urban, Patty Loveless, Emmylou Harris, Tommy Hunter, George Fox, Ian Tyson, JP Cormier, Vance Gilbert, The Good Brothers, Paul Brandt, Murray McLauchlan, Suzie Vinnick, Prairie Oyster, George Canyon — the list is endless.

And he’s hilarious. His easy-going stage patter with his unique combination of musicality and humour makes him a favourite with audiences. Super-fan Ross Webster says, “Come for the music; stay for the jokes.”

He’ll be joined at Coulson by David Matheson (Moxy Fruvous, Ron Sexsmith) on keyboards and vocals, David Woodhead (Perth County Conspiracy, James Keelaghan) on bass and vocals, and Rich Greenspoon (Njacko Backo) on drums. (If you know the band Betty and the Bobs, these are the Bobs.) Wendell says, “Don’t worry; we’re not loud.” Not too loud; just great.

What a collection of fantastic artists.
