Aurora Cannabis makes donation to local food bank

Local company, Aurora Cannabis makes their first of many local food bank donations

On Thursday morning, employees and social committee volunteers from Aurora Cannabis, Kim Atkinson and Cynthia Ayres stopped by Bradford's Helping Hand Bank to dop off a collection of non-perishable food items donated by the company.

The group of employees at the local company thought it would be a good idea to get involved and make a donation, espeically with Thanksgiving coming up.

Atkinson says this is their first time donating and hope to continue doing so on a regular basis.

Long time food bank volunteers, Anne and William Silvey were on hand to receive the goods and very appreciative of their contribution.

The Helping Hand Food Bank is open to clients three days a week: Monday and Wednesdays from 1 - 2 p.m. and on Fridays from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

The food bank is always looking for high school students looking to complete their community service hours. High school volunteer shifts are available every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. - Noon.

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact them directly at 905-775-2824 or emailing them at [email protected]
