BradfordToday and InnisfilToday welcome letters to the editor at [email protected] or via the website. Please include your full name, daytime phone number and address (for verification of authorship, not publication).

I am writing in response to BWG council’s decision on Nov 05, 2024 to refer back the Application of AMJ (Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at) to the staff  for reconsideration to hold their annual convention in Bradford next year.

We welcome this decision and thankful to the council members for their kindness, help and support for this reconsideration.

As per the teachings of our faith and the Holy Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him), “Whoever does not thank people, does not thank God.”

One purpose of the annual convention (Jalsa Salana) is to bring communities together and promote brotherhood in the society. This motive is so sacred and blessed that we Ahmadi Muslims are witness to this fact that wherever it happens in the world, peace, harmony, prosperity and happiness spreads.

Being an Ahmadi Muslim, we are spreading the message: “Love for All, Hatred for None.”

This is a powerful motto that emphasizes the importance of compassion, understanding and acceptance in our interactions with others. It encourages individuals to embrace love and kindness while rejecting feelings of animosity or prejudice. This philosophy can foster a more harmonious and peaceful society, reminding us to treat everyone with respect and empathy, regardless of their background or beliefs.

We want to practice the true teachings of Islam and abide by the true values of Canada which are actual reflection of our faith.

May God be with all of us to remove all the misconceptions about Islam, a religion of peace and harmony.

We want to work with all communities in this great country, which is champion of human rights and freedom of speech, to strengthen our bond with humanity and humanitarian values which have brought us to this beautiful country.
