The 46th annual Jalsa Salana conference took place in Bradford on July 5.

I am a missionary in training studying at Jamia Ahmadiyya Canada. I humbly would like to see the Bradford council put their decision into reconsideration.

As a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, I have seen events being held at the Bradford Jalsa site, not Jalsa alone but many events in the past with an approximate attendance of 3,000 souls that unite together to bond with one another and enjoy each other’s company.

If we were to stop these events from occurring, then that unity will gradually begin to fade and the positive connections that the government and councillors share with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will also lose its strength.

It was, however, a great opportunity that the council allowed the members of the community to say their opinions regarding the event itself, listing possible ideas for the coming year. It would be even greater to come to acknowledge that the council decides to turn the tables around and work with the community as a positive result, which solely means to allow for the event to take place.
