COUNTY OF SIMCOE

The County of Simcoe is refocusing the Made in Simcoe campaign to recognize the efforts of dozens of local manufacturers in adapting their production lines to produce PPE and medical supplies to keep people safe and healthy.
“The County of Simcoe is host to a wide variety of hard-working, committed and skilled professionals that manufacture and produce a vast range of world-leading products,” said County of Simcoe Warden George Cornell.
“The determination of our outstanding local businesses to adapt to meet rapidly changing market demands for PPE and medical supplies due to COVID-19 is a testament to the high-quality commercial enterprises and the skilled local labour force that exist in our region. The County is pleased to recognize their hard work through this year’s Made in Simcoe County campaign and to encourage the growth of new talent in Simcoe County," said Cornell.
Over the past several months, businesses across multiple sectors have adapted their operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
More than 20 manufacturers have pivoted away from what they normally produce to focus on essential goods such as PPE, medical supplies, and sanitizer. Even though it takes time and a monumental effort to adapt their lines, these companies are stepping up for our communities and helping in any way they can.
Collaboration between local industry and several organizations, including the County of Simcoe, has been a key component to success, proving that we are #StrongerTogether.
To recognize the hard work of these local manufactures, the County of Simcoe is adapting its #MadeinSimcoeCounty campaign to profile industry leaders and their stories during the pandemic. The County of Simcoe has produced a series of short videos promoting the impact that their production efforts have had on local businesses and area communities.
Local businesses are encouraged to contact [email protected] to share their #MadeInSimcoeCounty story.
