Conservative incumbent John Brassard has claimed a third term as Barrie-Innisfil's MP.
While congregating at Beertown on Fairview Road in the city's south end, Brassard thanked his family and supporters.
With 85 of 175 polls reporting at 11:30 p.m., Brassard has 7,312 votes, or 45.8 per cent. Liberal Lisa-Marie Wilson was in second place at 28.3 per cent, with the NDP's Aleesha Gostkowski in third at 18.6 per cent. People's Party Corrado Brancato garnered 7.3 per cent.
In 2019, Brassard garnered 23,765 votes for 43.8 per cent. That was almost 7,900 more votes than second-place finisher, Liberal candidate Lisa-Marie Wilson.
Brassard was first sent to Ottawa in 2015 when he secured 22,901 votes for 46.41 per cent. Liberal candidate Colin Wilson finished second in that election with 18,308 votes, or 37.11 per cent.
