According to the North Bay Police, they will take prompt action to address any threats to public safety on the Highway 11/17 walking bridge.
On Sunday morning, the bridge had to be temporarily shut down due to a fire that was reportedly ignited by squatters trying to stay warm, as stated by the North Bay Fire Department.
Despite the shutdown, a few squatters were still present as contractors from the Ministry of Transportation worked on making a temporary repair for the fire-damaged floor.
