There are only a few days left to vote in the Bradford Ward 2 By-Election, with polls closing at 8 p.m. Monday Dec. 7.
As of Thursday afternoon, 648 votes were cast out of 3,411 eligible electors.
“That’s very good for this stage of the vote but we certainly expect to reach a much higher number before the end of the voting period on Monday night,” said Community Relations Officer for the town, Caleigh Clubine.
There are seven candidates running for the vacant seat on council, replacing the late Coun. Gary Baynes.
In Tuesday night’s meeting of council, Mayor Rob Keffer and councillors discussed the current election.
"There are seven good candidates who have been working hard," said Mayor Keffer, "All the best to all the candidates."
"We look forward to welcoming them (the newly elected councillor) to our council meeting on Dec. 15," he said.
